A PDO thread lift is a revolutionary new treatment in the world of aesthetics, but PDO threads themselves have been used safely for decades for various applications, like treating gynecological disorders or suturing incisions after medical procedures. When used as an aesthetic treatment, there are a few things you should know.

First, it mechanically results in instant skin lifting. Second, it contracts fat tissue to result in instant skin tightening. Third, it promotes collagen production and neovascularization to renew your skin at the cellular level. All of this works together to give you enhanced skin texture, fewer fine lines and wrinkles and more elastic skin.

One of the best things about this treatment is it only takes 20 to 40 minutes. After that, you’re free to go back to work or whatever else you had scheduled for the rest of your day.

Before treatment starts, we will apply a topical numbing agent and local anesthetic to the treatment site. The needle used during this treatment is so fine it will not cause any pain. However, we provide local anesthesia to ensure you feel no discomfort during the treatment.

Microneedling is used to treat and improve conditions like acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, loose skin, skin texture, pore size, brown spots, stretch marks, and pigment issues. It’s also called skin needling, collagen induction therapy (CIT), and percutaneous collagen induction (PCI)

PRP facials and PRP facelifts both prompt skin cell and collagen growth. The main difference between the two is their results.

PRP facial

During a PRP facial, Collagen Induction Therapy is initiated by utilizing a Procell or Cosmopen device, a process known as microneedling. After the blood has been drawn and centrifuged the PRP serum is formed. The serum is then applied onto the microneedled skin, where it enters to saturate the skin and speed up collagen production. PRP facials reduce acne scarring, reduce wrinkles and fine lines, correct hyperpigmentation, and improve overall skin tone and texture.

PRP facelift

During a PRP facelift, PRP is combined with a hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Master injectors with WFD injects the serum directly into your face. This creates a more dramatic effect that mimics a facelift.
PRP facelifts immediately plump up your skin, creating a fuller, younger look. Simultaneously, they promote collagen and elastin growth much deeper in the skin.
PRP facelifts also diminish wrinkles and fine lines, reduce pores, and create healthier skin.

Botox is just the brand name of a certain neuromodulator, called “Botulinum Toxin Type A” but Botox® refers to an injectable cosmetic treatment used to effectively reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the face. Now, don’t let the word “toxin” scare you, it is completely safe to use (it has been FDA approved since 1989), but only by a licensed medical professional. There are also other well-known brand names for the same type of product, such as Dysport® or Xeomin®. Botox is the preferred neuromodulator used at the World Famous Med Spa.

Cosmetic Botox® is FDA approved for use on

  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Horizontal lines on the forehead
  • Wrinkles between the eyebrows
  • Wrinkles around the mouth ( smoker’s lines)
  • Turn frowns upside down

Any injection can hurt, but the needles used for Botox® injections are very small, so pain is usually minimal. At WFD we offer ice packs and even numbing cream, so you may not feel much pain, if anything at all!

People easily get these two types of injectables confused all the time, but here’s an easy way to distinguish between the two: Botox® is for limiting muscle movement, fillers are for building volume.

Botox® reduces the activity of muscles in the face that cause wrinkles. Facial fillers, however, fill the trouble areas with a gel made up of hyaluronic acid, which helps to plump and lift the skin to replace volume loss.

The choice of filler depends on the individual patient, their treatment goals, and personal facial anatomy. I recommend booking a consultation to discuss these things with your provider.

effects are long lasting but not permanent. Derma fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years, depending on a number of factors including the patient’s age, area treated, type of filler used, quantity of filler used, and lifestyle.

Common side effects of any neuromodulator injectable include:

  • Muscle weakness near the injection sites
  • Slight bruising
  • Bleeding
  • Redness
  • Swelling

In general, dermal fillers are considered very safe. The most common reactions are redness, swelling, bruising, itching, and tenderness. These are typically mild and resolve spontaneously in 1-7 days for most patients. Other side effects are very rare.
